The Herring Trail-Bayr Ny Skeddan

Running from Peel to Castletown, this is the old horse trail, from the Peel fishing boats to Castletown market, a distance of roughly 14 miles.

It is easiest to find by leaving Castletown on the Millennium Way, before heading up South Barrule to the Roundtable and dropping down through Glen Maye and along the coastal path, past Knockaloe and Corrin’s Folly into Peel.

Steep in sections, this is an immensely rewarding walk, highlighting the differences in the Manx landscape.
