St Mary the Virgin/Abbey Church

Built in 1897, in the grounds of Rushen Abbey and designed by Ewan Christian, who also designed St Thomas’ Church in Douglas, Marown Parish Church, Christ Church, Laxey and the Chapel of Ease (the Old Schoolhouse) at Cronkbourne. The last important work of his life, was the addition to the National Gallery, London, to form a National Portrait Gallery.
The organ was created by the Aeolian Organ Company and dates to around 1910. The stained glass windows depict St Germanus and St Lupus. Either side of the alter two tablets record the Ten Commandments.
The Church holds Regular Services and has its own Choir.
Abbey Church hosts TASK, Friday Coffee Mornings and a TT Cafe.
