Manx Electric Railway Museum
Derby Castle Car Sheds, Douglas, IM99 1JS
The Manx Electric Railway Museum was opened by volunteers in 2014. Its collection was brought together by Derby Castle workshop supervisor Steve Hall. The museum has a wealth of historical artefacts that were discovered in tidy-ups of the workshops or in people’s sheds or from in storage at Banks Circus at Public Transport headquarters.
The Manx Electric Railway is dedicated to the historical and current operation of the Manx Electric Railway, which has run continuously since 1893 along the eastern coast of the Isle of Man, with the majority of its Victorian & Edwardian era infrastructure and rolling stock still in use.
