Home of Rest for Old Horses
Richmond Hill, Douglas, IM4 1JH

Started by sisters Mrs Mildred Royston and Miss May Kermode in 1950. The sisters knew that owners could not afford to keep horses who were too old to work and so ended the animals lives. They decided to rescue them instead.
The first pony they saved was called Trixie. The Home now has over 50 hoses and ponies and over 10 donkeys in their 90 acres of grassland. The home is open to public during the summer season and for a small fee you may feed the donkeys.
The Home also organises Fundraisers around Christmas time with live music and hot chocolate and the chance to spend some time with these lovely old horses.
