Vicar of St Barnabas’ Church, Dr William Carpenter, formed a fundraising committee to build a House of Industry, Hospital and Dispensary which opened to house 80 people. Ellan Vannin Pipes and Drums The Isle of Man’s Bagpipe and Drums band formed in 1984. The band plays at Weddings and functions throughout the Island and is for hire.
