Greeba Plantation/King’s Forest

There is quite a steep path through the plantation above the Privately owned Greeba Castle and Greeba Towers. Fabulous views are the reward for the climb.
These two Victoria Castellated residences, where designed by John Robinson, and built in 1849. Robinson is also responsible the Falcon Cliff, Douglas Head Hotel and Derby Castle. The famous Manx Novelist Hall Caine, owned Greeba Castle from 1896 to 1931, having previously rented it since 1894. His writing lodge still exists within the grounds. The castle remains in the family.
