Cross Vein Mine-Snuff the Wind
Garey Road, South Barrule, Foxdale
Snuff the Wind is a truly beautiful scenic spot in the high Romantic Style. This area recalls the Industrial Age of the Isle of Man. The mine was worked, extracting lead ore, from 1810 to 1881, by the Isle of Man Mining Company. Nearby is the Beckwith Mine, Brookfield and Townshends Mines, all in ruins but providing interesting architecture and a glimpse into the past.
