1 year Old Today!!

Exactly a year ago today, we sent out our first post to the world explaining who we are, what we do and what our plans are. What a year it’s been!! Worth a read and a laugh. Launching an events website days before the first lockdown on the Island. We had no idea what was about to happen.

Here we are in lockdown again and it’s easy to think that nothing has changed since a year ago but it has.

We have not only survived but have had an exciting time. That’s a whole year of supporting the hospitality and leisure industries of the Isle of Man with free listings and publicity. More to follow..

But first a look at:

HELLO ISLE OF MAN

This website has been two years in development, and it will take another year before we have collated all the information about all the amazing things that are happening on the Island. There are over 2500 different places and societies where you can do things and the Island hosts over 500 big events a year. That’s a lot of activity and some people still say there is nothing to do here.

For the last nine months or so we have been trialling the site live. As a result, we have made a few changes. Website uses are split fairly evenly between desktop and phone users, so we improved the design to work well on both mediums. Thank you for your feedback and support. It’s great to hear how much you appreciate the work we have done.

We put in a generic listing for businesses and events but its much better if it comes from you. We can write what you do but not why you do it. If you are a passionate small business, we want to know why you do what you do and what makes you special. If you are holding an event let us know.

We have social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. There is way too much information to have a Facebook page as our main site that’s why we built the website. We post upcoming events on Facebook but not all of them. Check our “What’s On” page on the website to see all the things we find to do.

2020 is an incredible year. We hope using this website you will find stuff that interests you, go out and meet new people, try stuff for the first time and make new memories. The Island has so much to offer.
